In the equation ΔG=ΔH - TΔS
when ΔH is positive and ΔS is positive, then ΔG
is negative at high temperatures. Can someone explain the reasoning
behind this?
Similarly, when ΔH is negative and ΔS is negative,
then ΔG is negative at low temperatures. Can someone
explain the reasoning behind this as well? I thought that at low
temperatures, the change in entropy would be very large, so TΔS
would be greater than ΔH, but it's not.
Thanks.
