17. In a region of space, there is a vertical uniform magnetic field of 10 mT. In that field there is a rectangular coil of 150 loops that is 0.2 m by 0.1 m. The coil has a handle on one corner that allows it to be rotated by hand about a horizontal axis. The wires go out the opposing side connected and end in rings that rotate with the coil about the rotation axis. The rings are connected to "brush wires" that maintain contact to the external circuit, allowing current to flow. a. State how the magnetic field flux will change for this problem. Discuss both physically and mathematically. b. Give a symbolic equation for the magnetic flux through the coil for any point in time. c. Give a symbolic equation for the rate of change of the magnetic flux through the coil with respect to time for any point in time. Remember that the angle is constantly changing at a constant angular velocity and that because this is rotation the angular velocity is related to the frequency. d. Give a symbolic equation for the emf induced by this generator. e. Calculate the maximum emf generated if cranked at 6 Hz.
