4. Find the size and number of pipe culverts needed to convey flow under a roadway. Use the following information: • Flow of 120 cfs 150-foot-wide roadway • Culvert(s) will be constructed of corrugated metal pipe (n = 0.022) ● Anticipated water level drop between inlet and outlet is 1.0 foot • Use an entrance loss coefficient of 0.6 and assume outlet control conditions • Culvert slope is 0.002 Available culvert pipe sizes that will accommodate the roadway profile are 24", 36" and 48" inches in diameter • Use same size culverts and limit the number to six (6).
