4. (a) A neutron collides with a hydrogen atom which was in the ground state initially. After the collision, the hydrogen atom is exited to the state of n = 2. (i) How much kinetic energy is transferred from the neutron to the hydrogen atom? (ii) Due to the collision, the de Broglie wavelength of the neutron is increased by 10%. Determine the de Broglie wavelength and kinetic energy of the neutron before the collision. Note that the neutron rest mass is 1.7 x 10-27 kg and the energy loss to the surrounding during the collision can be ignored. (12 Marks)
