TASK:
“All personal health information is generally considered to be sensitive personal information, dealing as it does with matters that are extremely personal and which a patient will generally expect to be shielded from public disclosure.”-
Assume a regular patient of HopeClinic gets badly injured from some accident and he needs an emergency treatment which is not available in HopeClinic. HopeClinic has all his medical history. He needs to get admitted and have urgent treatment in some other hospital. Will it be appropriate for clinic to share patient’s medical history with the other hospital? Discuss in detail what “Privacy and Security Rules” within GCC or Internationally need to be followed to share the patient’s private medical data with the other hospital. What are the LESPI implications of such an act? Discuss informed consent, privacy, data protection, ethical, legal, professional and social concerns of the case. Discuss the case with reference to regulations in GCC and/or Internationally (e.g. HIPAA -Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) to support your argument. You should include at least 2 references using APA
referencing format.
