In the Coulomb scattering experiment, a beam of alpha particles (He) of intensity I (watt/m2) is directed at a thin plate of gold (19%Au) with an area of A and thickness d, the scattered beam is then observed by the Geiger detector. Müller placed at a distance R from the center of the gold plate. I. Calculate the intensity of the alpha beam as a function of the angle of scattering (e) recorded by the detector assuming the space between the gold plate and the detector is a vacuum.
