Consider an infinitely long transmission line consisting of two concentric cylinders with their axes along the z-axis. The inner cylinder is solid, has radius a, and is a non- magnetic conductor carrying current I. The outer cylinder has an inner radius b and thickness t. It is also a non-magnetic conductor (same material as the inner conductor). The region between the cylinders is a magnetic dielectric of permeability fl and permittivity € Assume that the currents are uniformly distributed throughout the volume of the conductors, travels in the +z-direction, and that all materials are linear, isotropic, and homogeneous. a) Find H, B, and M everywhere inside and outside the cylinders.
b) Determine the bound volume and surface currents. Sketch these currents relative to the magnetization. c) How do your results for part a) depend on whether the magnetic dielectric material is made up of a linear diamagnetic material vs a linear paramagnetic material?
