An ideal gas undergoes a four-step process. Beginning at state 1 (volume Vi, pressure Pı), it is isothermally compressed to state 2 (volume V2, pressure P2). Then it is isobarically expanded to state 3 (volume V3, pressure P3) such that V3 = V1. In the following step, it is isothermally expanded to V4. In the last step, it is isobarically compressed back to state 1. (a) Draw the P-V diagram of the entire process. Use the arrow sign to indicate the direction of the process. (7 points) (b) Derive an expression of the work done during this entire process in terms of pressure and volume of different states. The final derived expression should not have other terms apart from volume and pressure. (8 points)
