Assume that a room storing quench oils has a volume V being
(600) m3 Given that the minimum enclosure temperature
anticipated is 21°C and there are two ventilation openings. The air
outlet near the ceiling is of area 0.2 m2 and the air inlet of 0.2
m2 area was centered at 0.61 m below the ceiling. With the
consideration of the additional CO2 for openings, determine (with
reasonable assumptions, clear steps and explanations) the total
amount of CO2 required (correct to 1 decimal place) to protect this
enclosure in the event of surface fires.
Values based on NFPA 12 Tables
