A2. (a) A particular voltage amplifier has an open-loop gain of 10000, an input resistance of 1000 N and an output resistance of 100 n. It is fed from a voltage source of 1 mV and internal resistance of 500 N. Calculate the voltage that would be developed at the output if the amplifier were driving a load of 50 Ω. [10 marks] (b) The amplifier is replaced by a cascade of two of these amplifiers that have overall negative feedback applied such that the closed loop gain of the cascade is 100. Calculate the voltage across the load with this new arrangement. [9 marks] (c) Each amplifier has an input offset of 100 pV. Calculate the effect of this for the amplifier arrangements in parts (a) and (b). [6 marks]
