Deformation and Strain Tensor αχι The deformation of an elastic material is given by the displacement function u(x) = [3x₁ = ax₂]. - a) Sketch the deformation in rectangular grid (i.e., the movement of some of the points) for the choice a = 0.2, p = 0.1. b) Calculate the tensor ej = as well as the strain tensor Eij dui axj c) Determine the rotational part of the deformation by calculating the corresponding rotation angle. d) Calculate the principal axes for the symmetric tensor €ij and the tensor in corresponding coordinate system. Interpret these values by visualizing them in terms of deformations.
