Q1 (a) Building management system (BMS) is a new technology that is very beneficial during the operational phase of a building. Based on your understanding, briefly explain how the BMS system can improved the plant's reliability and life. (4 marks) (6) A tall office building of 20 storey has been proposed to be build in the city of Johor Bahru in the near future. As a tall building, the water consumption for the building is expected to be high due to the supply for the use of tenant, air- conditioning cooling towers and irrigation systems. Therefore, the application of a smart water sub-meter system connected to the building's BMS system is one of the strategies that can be used. (1) Based on the above statement, relate TWO (2) supporting reasons why the system is expected can increase efficiency in the management of water use in building. (4 marks) (ii) Table 1 shows the list of location that required a water supply in the building. Based on the given information, construct a schematic diagram showing the water sub-meter and its linkage to the Building Management System (BMS). (6 marks) (iii)Given that the smart-metering system has a feature of measuring the volume, flow, and pressure of water.
