You have to calculate and present the following items based on the given flow net in the next page: 1. Uplift pressure distribution graph along the bottom side of the weir. You should calculate the pressures in kPa. (30 marks) 2. Total uplift force due to the uplift pressure (in kN/m) and its location measured from the toe in m (point O). (10 marks) 3. Weight of the weir (in kN/m) and its distance in m from the toe. The weir is made of reinforced concrete for which you can assume the unit weight of c= 24 kN/m”. (5 marks) 4. Factor of safety against overturning around the toe (point 0). This is essentially the moment caused by the self-weight divided by the moment caused by the water pressure and uplift force.
