All agricultural land uses maximize their productivity (rent),
which in this case is dependent upon their location from the market
(Central City). The role of a farmer is to maximize
profit , which is the market price minus the transport and
production costs. The relationships between agricultural land use
and market distance can be difficult to establish in the
contemporary context.
In the diagram are two points (A & B) representing the
location of the farms. Explain how the valuation of these two farms
are affected in terms of value based on the following:
a. competing land uses (5marks)
b. accessibility to labour (5marks)
c. cost of land rent (5marks)
