Overview
The purpose of the portfolio task is to enhance student skills
and employability in the hospitality industry. You will only
develop these skills with deliberate practice and your progress
will accelerate with feedback. It is recommended that students
complete all available tasks to maximise marks for this
assessment.
Details
There are six portfolio tasks in total each the equivalent of
500 words. Tasks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are worth 10% each whilst Task 5
is worth 20%. There is time dedicated in the tutorials to develop
the skills required for these exercises. Several of the portfolio
tasks will require you to use the Virtual Field Trips website.
*** The Hospitality and Tourism sector has been
signifcantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two
years and as aspiring hospitality industry professionals you will
need to hone your skills to contribute to the recovery of the
sector. These portfolio tasks are industry
standard assessment tasks and this means you
must take into consideration the COVID-19
pandemic when completing the tasks to ensure industry relevancy.
Tutorial activites and further assessment instruction will be
provided throughout the semester to support completion of these
submissions.
Task 3: WH&S Assessment
Complete an WH&S assessment for one department/zone at a
sports stadium designated by your tutor. Use the WHS template
located on vUWS.
