Here is my introduction to this topic:
In the healthcare system of Australia, it's vital that the
resources that are provided are used efficiently as possible,
without comprising the quality of care for patients. According to
WHO (World Health Organisation) "an environmentally sustainable
health system as one that “improves, maintains or restores health,
while minimizing negative impacts on the environment and leveraging
opportunities to restore and improve it, to the benefit of the
health and well-being of current and future generations”.
Environmental sustainability is important to the members of the
Australian community as it brings forth numerous potential
benefits, however, potential benefits may lead to potential issues
or barriers, which internally will affect how patients live amongst
this country and how the quality of life gets affected.
