Go to the article called "this map shows a racial
breakdown of every person"
Read the brief article and click on the map at the beginning of
the article. You will notice that each map shows where every person
in a particular town/county(ies) lives, broken down by
race/ethnicity. Select two of the maps
and discuss what patterns you see.
1. Spend about 1-1.5 double-spaced pages answering the
following: Do people of different races/ethnicities live in the
same places? If not, what trends do you see regarding
race/ethnicity? Are the trends the same or different for the two
maps you selected? Are you surprised by the trends that you
see?
2. Spend about 1 double-spaced page answering the
following: Is the community where you live racially
segregated? What effects, if any, does segregation by
race/ethnicity have on communities in New Jersey?
Your assignment should be about two double-spaced
page. Be sure to define and integrate relevant terms
from the Race and Ethnicity chapter.
