Alcohol D, E and Fare isomers with the molecular formula of C4H,OH. Alcohol Dreacts instantly with Lucas reagent but does not decolourise hot acidified KMnO4. Alcohol Ereacts with alkaline iodine solution to give yellow precipitate. It also reacts with hot acidified KMnO4. While alcohol F gives negative result with Lucas reagent, decolourise hot acidified KMnO4 and yields a sweet smelling liquid when treated with benzoic acid in the presence of mineral acid. a) Draw the structures of alcohol D, E and F. b) Write down all the chemical equations for the reactions that had taken place.
