M A B 4. A hollow sphere, of mass M and radius R, is sliding with a velocity, Vo, at the top of a frictionless tabletop between points A and B. It enters a rough section of the tabletop at point B. As the sphere moves through the rough section, the friction force changes the sphere's motion from sliding, to rolling with sliding, to just pure rolling. The moment of inertia of the sphereis I = MR2 and the coefficient of kinetic friction is u. a. Express the linear velocity v of the center of mass of the sphere as a function of time t while it is rolling with sliding. b. Express the angular velocity w of the sphere as a function of time while it is rolling with sliding. C. Find the time at which the ball begins to roll without sliding.
