Part A: a complete database design and development
project through SQL for a real-world business case
1. Please choose to create a (one) database by SQL from the
following two cases. Your database is required to include a. a
complete ER diagram using Chen’s notation (8 marks) b. a complete
database project using SQL to construct and implement (8 marks) c.
a sufficient amount of dummy data integrated with the designed
database for data retrieving and further data analytics (4

Case Study B Pro App is a newly founded, Australia and Indonesia
based sharing economy platform, currently seeking Series A funding
in southeast Asia and Australia. It aims at providing the premium
and customized offline services to satisfy local communities to
outsource everyday tasks. Customers describe the task and indicate
a budget, community members then bid to complete the task. Pro App
resembles Airtasker very closely. Students are required to conduct
research on such company with the company prospectus attached, and
to come up with a detailed database for the app to manage all

Data Analyst
Part B: a written report to address the business concerns by
data analytics tools
You are preparing a data analytics report as a data analyst to
the Chief Operating Officer of the selected organization. The Chief
Operating Officer would like to shed the light on minimizing the
overhead of managing newly registered users of the online platform.
The database designed by you would perfectly serve the purpose of
managing users in a more productive way. On the other hand, the
user data also provides insightful ideas to resolve business
issues. Please propose 5-10 potential organizational issues that
impact the COO’S decision-making process and formulate the
appropriate SQL quires to support your “guesswork”. The SQL quires
are required to be included in the database design package. A
written report will contain the explanation of how the database was
created, the elaborations of how the quires were selected and
formulated, and suggestions of the return results – no word limit.
