There are four (4) 7/8-in. bolts as shown. Assume A36 steel for the tension member and gusset plate. Use LRFD analysis. (20 pts.) b) Using the capacity found in part a), analyze to determine whether an equivalent welded connection can be created. Use E70 electrodes and LRFD design. Assume weld strength controls and base metal strength does not need to be checked.
