I need help with this question
Wastewater generated from a community with a flowrate of 1 m/min and a BOD concentration of 450 mg/L need to be treated before discharging into a receiving water body. A consultant has proposed to treat the wastewater using a completely mixed activated sludge system preceded by a primary sedimentation system. The proposed design for the activated sludge system is based on the following conditions: Microbial decay coefficient = 0.1 d' Maximum specific growth rate = 10 d! Half-velocity constant = 33 mg/L True growth yield coefficient = 0.9 Working volume of aeration tank = 600 m Effluent total suspended solids = 10 mg/L Effluent total BODs < 12 mg/L You are asked to assess the proposed design. You are to use appropriate analysis to support your evaluation and suggestion(s). Make any assumption you deem necessary.
