Question 1 Data obtained from a tensile test on a piece of round bronze alloy having a cross-sectional area of 1.6 x 10 m are as follows: Force, KN 1.33 4.23 6.67 8.45 10.01 11.12 12.68 14.01 Extension, mm 0.0152 0.0488 0.0732 0.0975 0.1097 0.1219 0.1504 0.1788 The original gauge length was 200 mm. The fracture load was 18.5 kN and the elongation 34 mm. Plot the stress-strain curve, and determine the following properties: (i) Stiffness of the material (ii) Ultimate strength (iii) Yield Stress at 0.2% offset and 0.5% extension respectively, and comment on the answers obtained (iv) Toughness of the material (v) Resilience Modulus of the material (25 marks)
