MIS Report (70 points) The Chief Information Officer of your company would like you to design a sample database for a new employee-only social networking platform for the company's 100 employees. You are to provide a report describing your design, findings, and various IS/IT considerations. Your report must be professional in appearance, and adhere to the following outline: 1. Cover Page (use APA Title Page Format) 2. Declaration of Academic Integrity 3. Executive Summary, no longer than 1 page, describing the overall system and major findings. 4. Body of Report: a. Business Value: Describe the purpose and motivation for the creation of this system, and reference impacts to at least two parts of Porter's Value Chain. b. Database Design: Explain the steps needed to build the database; specify entities and their relationships. Support with diagrams. C. Enterprise vs Personal DBMS: Compare these three common database technologies: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle Database. d. Hosting: Discuss in-house hosting vs cloud hosting, including security considerations. e. Data Mining: Explain how data mining could be used on the database, what some key performance indicators (KPIs) could be, and describe other insights that can arise from data mining. Provide at least one example of supervised data mining and at least one example of unsupervised data mining that could be used on your database. f. Green IT: Recommend one on-premise hardware server to purchase. Note any considerations regarding ethics, security, and green computing. 5. References a. Cite Chapters 1 through 12, as well as reputable external sources, to support your design, analysis, and recommendations. Additional Requirements: 1. 1.5 paragraph spacing, size 12 font, use only ONE of the following fonts throughout the entire report: Time News Roman, Calibri, Trebuchet MS, Arial,Verdana. 2. Normal 1” (2.54cm) margins on all sides. 3. Minimum 8 pages, maximum 15 pages, excluding Cover Page, Executive Summary, and References. Any visuals or tables are to be included in the body of the report (no appendices). 4. Use your textbook to guide you in writing this report, however, do not simply "copy and paste" textbook content. It is the application of the textbook content that is being evaluated.
