2.3. Tom's engineering wants to improve productivity, they are looking at material handling systems, and the cells are supported by a fleet of Forklift trucks. The average travel distance per delivery will be 900 m loaded and the average empty travel distance will be 900 m. The fleet must make a total of 66 deliveries/hr. Loading takes 0.68 min and unloading times is 0.50 min and the speed of the vehicles = 350 m/min. speed of the forklift truck when loaded is 350m/min and when empty is 420 m/min Assume the traffic factor for the system = 0.89, availability = 0.58, and efficiency = 76%. Determine the following: 2.3.1. Ideal cycle time per delivery [5] 2.3.2. The resulting average number of deliveries/hr. that a forklift truck can make [3] 2.3.3. How many trucks are required to accomplish the 60 deliveries/hr.? (4)
