Chapter 1 of the book discusses how the geographers, as do otherscientists, utilized the scientific method for their hypothesis andtheories? What is the difference between the two? You may havelearned and used the scientific method in high school whenconducting science experiments etc. What are the steps from theformation of a hypothesis to a possible theory? Why is it importantto follow the scientific method when conducting studies that couldresult in a theory? Why is it difficult to “prove” a theory? If wefeel we have “proven” a theory does it remain a theory?
