One of the easiest and most powerful ways of motivating peopleis to recognize their efforts, as described in Chapter 10. Like anyother interpersonal skill, being effective at giving recognitiontakes practice. During the this week, find two people torecognize, and observe how they react to your recognition. Forexample, if a server gives you fine service, explain after the mealhow much you enjoyed the service and leave a larger-than-averagetip.
