dispose of existing lining and replace with reinforced concrete
channel Type 8.  CH60 – CH150: Demolish and dispose of existing
lining and replace with reinforced concrete channel Type 3.  CH150
– CH170: Clean and repair existing concrete culvert. A.2.4.1.4
CHANNEL S3B4  CH0 – CH15: Clean existing pipe and repair inlet and

new Type 8 channel with grid cover. Dispose of excavated materials.
 CH35 – CH61: Demolish and dispose of existing v-shaped channel
and replace with reinforced concrete channel Type 3. Tie into
channel S3B4. A.2.1 BACKGROUND We require the replacement of
existing stormwater channel linings and the concrete lining of
additional unlined channels. The purpose of the project is to
replace existing brick lined stormwater or dirty water channels
with reinforced concrete channels which are more environmentally
acceptable / sustainable. In addition to this, other unlined
channels and drainage routes have been identified to be lined and
aligned to accommodate the storm and dirty water runoff. A.2.3
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS The Scope of Works is for the
channel lining replacement project required, as described and
detailed within this document. The Works comprises of; P a g e 1 7

place new paving shaped to intercept stormwater.  CH35 – CH56:
Lift existing paving and re-shape into channel profile Type 3. Tie
into channel S3B4. A.2.4.1.7 CHANNEL S3B7  CH0 – CH25: Excavate
into soil and construct new reinforced concrete channel Type 8. 
CH25 – CH80: Excavate into soil and construct new reinforced
concrete channel Type 10.  CH80 – CH89: Excavate into soil and
construct new reinforced concrete channel Drift. Tie into Channel
S3B4. A.2.4.1.8 CHANNEL S3B10  CH0 – CH80: Demolish and dispose of
existing lining and replace with reinforced concrete channel Type
8.  CH80 – CH90: Excavate into soil and construct a new reinforced
concrete drift.  CH90 – CH135: Excavate into soil and construct a

CH0 – CH22: Demolish and dispose of existing lining. Excavate into
embankment and stabilise sides for a safe working space. Construct
the new reinforced concrete channel Type 2.  CH22 – CH83: Excavate
into soil and construct a new reinforced concrete channel Type 2.
Tie into channel S3B12.
