Problem 2. A study has been conducted to determine the distribution of the blood type of medical students at OU. A sample of 100 medical students attending OU has been selected and their blood type was identified. 35 students had type A blood, 40 had blood type B, 13 students had blood type AB and 12 students had blood type 0. (a). What is the variable under this study ? (b). Is the variable under investigation categorical or quantitative ? Justify your answers. (c). Use Microsoft Excel to plot a bar graph of blood type for the 100 students selected for this study. (d). Use Microsoft Excel to plot a pie chart of the blood type of the 100 medical students selected for this study. To make a bar graph in Excel, (1) first input the data into Excel spreadsheet, make a table of two columns, blood type and the counts. Label the columns, blood type and counts, respectively. (2) Select the table and go to insert and you will see a number of plots (Bar graphs, Pie charts). If you click on the plot that looks like a bar graph (vertical bars), you will get a bunch of options. Pick the fist one, it will give you the bar chart. Do the same for the pie chart.
