ASSESSMENT DESCRIPTION: Donkey Haven App Project Donkey Haven is located in Australia. Donkey Haven offers 16 acres of treed rural farmland, for guests to explore and enjoy. Guests can sit outside, listening to the wind in the trees, admire the many beautiful birds, kangaroos, koalas and for something very special, there are miniature donkeys on the property. Guests can spend their time with the donkeys, learning what intelligent, friendly, affectionate animals they are. Each has a unique bray and personality. Guests can walk in the paddock with the donkeys. Donkeys are very curious animals and love socialising with guests. Very therapeutic and quite a unique animal, very different to their equine cousins. There are many books about donkeys, games and DVD's for quiet time inside the cottages too. Donkey Haven Pty Ltd is managed by director, Donk Barlett. Donkey Haven has been experiencing a reduction in bookings due to COVID-19, also a large conference centre recently opened creating additional completion. Donkey Haven has a basic web presence and has considered developing their site, along with traditional marketing approaches and an app, to help to promote and grow their business. You have been working for Code Developers Pty Itd casually for the last three months in their mobile app development department. As a virtual team specialist, your company has applied for a tender to develop an app for Donkey Haven. Due to the importance of this project, the CEO of Code Developers Pty Itd, Danielle Johnsons, and the Director of Mobile Development Sophie Wilson have both made this project a priority. The initial investment in the project is estimated to be $250,000 in year of the project, $15,000 in year 1, $17,000 in year 2, and $19,000 in year 3 a total of $301,000. Jenny Development Inc. requires a discount rate of 8.5%. It is anticipated project future cash inflow as follows (Years 0 to 3): $90,000, $100,000, $110,000, and $120,000. The goal of the project is to propose an app, which is optimised for iPhone and Android devices. The app should allow guests and potential guests to book and pay for accommodations, nature walks, introduction to donkey care, and advanced care lessons, also donkey harness lessons. Clients should be able to subscribe to Donkey Haven newsletter and related upcoming events. There is also a small capacity conference room available for bookings. There should be access maps of all nature walks, and videos showcasing all the facilities. There should be a photo album for each donkey. The app should provide users with an ability to provide an overall ranking of centre in terms of attractions and services. Management believes it will take about five months to complete the project. The plan is to roll out review existing information, conduct research and gather new material. Detailed storyboards, a prototype, and final version of the app will be developed. The app will need to be tested and promoted prior to roll out. The project will be considered a success, if it comes in on time, on budget, within scope and key stakeholders have been pleased with the communication and reporting processes.
