that slopes 45 degrees from horizontal, the figure shows.
The cylinder is held in place by the force T in the cable AB and
friction F in contact point C with the ground.
Another cable is attached to the center of the cylinder, O. It
pulls with force P in a direction 45 degrees down from horizontal,
parallel to the ground.
a) Develop equations for the friction force 𝐹 and for
the force T in cable AB as functions only of P, m and the weight
factor 𝑔.
b) If the mass m = 10,0 kg and the static coefficient of
friction at the contact point C is μs = 0,50, what is the maximum
value of the force P before the cylinder starts to slide and
rotates?
