21.23 mL of ocean water is placed into each of five
volumetric flasks. To each flask except the first one, increasing
amounts of zirconium standard is added. Each flask is diluted
to exactly 41.97 mL. The atomic emission signal for zirconium
in each flask is measured. and the resulting standard addition
calibration curve has a linear equation of Y =
0.06095X+0.207. The slope units are (ppm)-1.
What is the concentration of zirconium in the original
undiluted ocean water sample, expressed in ppm (mg Zr / L ocean
water)?
