Select 2 psychological variables to investigate whether or not they are correlated with each other (e.g. I want to see if there is a correlation between anxiety and depression). Explain how you are going to measure these variables and why this makes them appropriate variables for correlation analysis.Imagine that you calculate this correlation and create a correlation coefficient (e.g. .45, -.87, -.53, etc.). Discuss what your correlation means both in terms of strength and direction (e.g. positive/negative). Finally, explain what is meant by the statement 'correlation does not necessarily equal causation'. Apply this statement to your chosen variables and give an example of a potential third factor.
