“High-Flow Oxygen for Treatment of Cluster Headache,” by Cohen,
Burns, and Goadsby is a paper published in the Journal of
the American Medical Association, Vol 302, No. 22. The paper is a
study about the use of Oxygen as a treatment for very painful
“cluster” headaches. In their paper, the authors used an
experiment with two groups: the first group of 150 patients
received the Oxygen as a treatment while the second group of 148
received a placebo. Among the first group of 150 patients who
received the Oxygen treatment, 116 were free from the headache 15
minutes after the treatment. Among the 148 patients who received
the placebo, 29 were free from the headache 15 minutes after the
