On a typical day, the population proportion of Reid College
students who drive to campus is 0.3, the proportion who
bicycle is 0.6, and the remaining 0.1 come to campus in
some other way (walk, bus, subway). The campus sponsors a
"Spare the Air" day to encourage people not to drive to campus
on that day. A random sample of 300 students was asked how
they got to campus on Spare the Air day, with the results to the
right. Use the 6 step Chi-square GOF hypothesis test to try to
demonstrate that there is a difference between the typical
proportions and the "Spare the Air" day proportions. Use a
95% confidence level.
