A high pressure chamber is designed to synthesize a new
material. Table 1 summarizes the data
collected for analyzing the chamber pressure and density of the
synthesized material.
(a) Fit a regression model for corelating chamber pressure (x) to
material density (y).
(b) What is R 2 for the model in (a)?
(c) Prepare a normal probability plot of the residuals, and
interpret the display.
(d) Plot the residuals versus fitted value and versus
observation ordering. Does the assumption of
constant variance seem to be satisfied?
