6. Meteor showers occur when the earth passes through volumes of space containing unusually large amounts of particles. These particles burn up as they enter the earth's atmosphere, leaving sometimes spectacular incandescent trails behind. One such meteor shower is the Piscids, which will occur roughly between the 1st and 30th of September in 2021. The STATS125 student Liuxing really wants to see some shooting stars and is trying to decide whether it will be worth putting in the effort to travel to a dark, out of the way, location to observe the Piscids. Based on the information from the Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand (https: 1/rasnz.org.nz/in-the-sky/meteor-showers) Liuxing assumes that during its peak the number of shooting stars that she will be able to see per hour in a sufficiently dark location can be modelled by a Poisson distributed random variable with an average of 3. (a) What is the expected number of shooting stars that Liuxin will be able to observe in 3 hours? (b) What is the probability that Liuxin will be able to observe no shooting stars in an hour? (e) What is the probability that Liuxin will be able to observe at least 5 shooting stars in an hour?
