I need help with my homework on endocrine chapter. plz help
A client who is pre-diabetic asked you, the nurse, why there’s
so many different tests for blood glucose. You weren’t sure what he
was referring to until he points out the four different tests he
saw on a pamphlet. He asked the following questions.
1) Please tell me the difference between Fasting blood sugar
(FBS), Oral glucose tolerance test (OGT), Glycosylated hemoglobin
(HbA1c) and Postprandial glucose test (PPBG)?
2) What are the normal values for all four blood sugar
tests?
3) My doctor once talked about “dawn phenomenon.” What is that
and how does this affect my blood sugar level?
