John and Brown were quarrelling in the library. One wants the window opened and the other wants it closed. John insists that the window should be kept closed and Brown wants it open. They argue back and forth about how much to leave it open: a crack, halfway, three quarters of the way. On hearing the quarrelling the librarian enters the room.
