Case Study. Chapter 63. Administration of Noninjectable Medications Ms. Rebecca Mechlin, a 16-year-old Caucasian female came to the Urgent Care Center complaining of lower abdominal pain radiating into her flank area on both sides of her back. She rates her pain as 8/10. She states that she is not sexually active or on any birth control Orders are given for a clean catch urine sample, pregnancy test, CBC, and a KUBx-ray. Her vital signs are: T=101.6, P=105 and bounding, R-18, and B/P-106/68 and Sao, on RA is 98%. She is allergic to bee stings and amoxicillin. (Learning Objectives 1, 2, 4,5,7,8,9) 1. The nurse is going to administer medication to this client List the "Five Rights, Plus Two in administering medications and explain each 2. List the routes that are included by giving medication per the enteral route. 3. Describe the routes for administering medications per the parenteral routes. 4. Describe fourdispensing and supply systems for obtaining medications. 5. Identify what documentation system is used after the nurse administers medication to the client 6. Give three examples of how a client is identified before the nurse administers medication to the client
