when balancing school work, job responsibilities, and family
life. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your
ability to construct an essay using standard essay form that is
relatively free of grammatical errors. You are not required
to research information for your essay.
You are encouraged to use your own general experience to
highlight the main issues that students encounter regarding time
management and work responsibilities. However, this is
not a personal essay. Avoid using “I” or any first person
references. Your work should be formal, and the point of view
should remain in the third person. Use examples that students
confront to fully explain each of your points (i.e. assignment due
dates conflicting with work duties).
The paper should be approximately 3 pages long and properly
proofread. Use the font size indicated in your syllabus (12
or 13). Use double spacing as well. You may find it
useful to outline your essay before filling in all the
details. Follow the basic essay format and the
checklist. Your notes should be invaluable for
