The deltoid muscle is the primary muscle acting in the arm when a person is holding a dumbbell of weight X. The deltoid is supplying a force of (1750 + YZ) N with the arm horizontal as shown in Figure Q1c. The centre of gravity of the dumbbell is 63 cm from the shoulder joint, and the centre of gravity of the arm, which weighs 30 N, is 28 cm from the shoulder joint. The deltoid muscle makes an angle of 13° from the horizontal and is attached to the humerus (15 + 0.YZ) cm from the shoulder joint. (i) Draw and label a free-body diagram of the arm shown in Figure Q1c. [3] (ii) Calculate the weight X, in newtons, that the person is holding. [4]
