(b) What is the hydrostatic pressure on the bottom of the channel at the downstream station BB'? (c) By considering the streamline along the bottom of the channel, use Bernoulli's equation to obtain an expression for U2 in terms of U1, H and H2. (d) Obtain relations between Hand U1 and between H2 and U2 in terms of the volume flux per unit width Q. (e) Show that the flow as sketched is a transition from subcritical flow upstream to supercritical flow downstream.
