An oil with a density of 870 kg/m³ and kinematic viscosity of
10.7 mm²/s flows at a rate of 0.1 m³/s through a galvanised iron
pipe 100mm diameter. The oil flows over a distance of 1000 m and
the pipe have a slope of 1 in 500. Determine the;


Loss of head using two different approaches/equations and
comment on any differences/assumptions.
Pressure dop as the oil flows over the full distance of 1000
m.
