The diagonal brace AC has a cross-sectional area A and Young's modulus E. The mass of the structure m can be assumed to be lumped at the roof level. Write the equation of motion governing the lateral displacement u(t) of the frame at roof level under the action of a time-varying horizontal load p(t) acting at point B. You may assume the damping in the structure to be negligible.
