Check to see if the fill meets the specification- The specification calls for RC > 95 percent based on standard Proctor test at a water content + 3 percent of the optimum water content. 1) Before construction begins perform standard proctor and find out that: c) Maximum dry density is 121.5 pcf d) Optimum water content is 12% 2) After placing the fill during construction in the field use a nuclear density gauge to determine: a) Dry density in field is 117 pcf b) water content in field is 14%
