An ambulance (speed 20 m/s and its siren produces 2000 Hz
sound) follows a fire truck (speed 30 m/s and its siren produces
1500 Hz). Assume the speed of sound in air as 343 m/s.
Find: (a) the frequency of the fire truck siren the
ambulance’s driver hears. (b) the frequency of the ambulance siren
the fire truck driver hears. (c) When the distance
between the fire truck and ambulance changes from 20 to 100 meters
by how much the level of sound heard by either driver changes?
