Riemann Sum and Definite Integral Notation A uniform pressure applied across a surface area A creates a total force of F-PA. The density of water is 62 Ibs/f'so that, under water, the pressure varies according to depth x as P -62 Given a dam 200 feet wide that extends 30 feet under water, find the force on the dam that is exerted by the water. 1. Write out the first 3 terms of an approximation for the force on the dam using Ar-0.5. 2. Write out the first 3 terms of an approximation for the force on the dam using Ar=0.1. 3. Modify #1 and 12 to give the Riemann sum that approximates the total force. Your Riemann sum should represent an approximation for any size interval 4. Modify #3 to give the exact force on the dam. Express the exact amount of force using all three forms of notation used in class. 5. Find the exact force on the dam. Show all of your work
