In ferromagnetic materials, the spin waves can be quantized and the elementary excitations are called MAGNONS. These are analogous to lattice vibrations or phonons: spin waves are oscillations in the relative orientations of spins on a lattice and lattice vibrations are oscillations in the relative positions of ions on a lattice. Use the approximate dispersion relation, o= Ak, to find the contribution of these excitations to the heat capacity at low-T of the ferromagnets.
