You are an engineer reviewing the production line for a new smoke alarm. The following is an extract of the FMEA that has been conducted on the product and you have been tasked with reviewing components, production and the safety of the product. You think you have a way to detect failures better. Based on the FMEA approach, which item will you focus these efforts on? Sensor A, the Alarm Component or the Alarm housing? 2. Justify your answer to question 1 above. 3. Another option you find is to improve the manufacture of the alarm housing so that the FMEA Occurence value of it breaking at first removal halves. What is the new RPN for the Alarm housing item?
